I can’t remember how old I was when I first saw a picture of the Focusrite Studio Console. It was probably in a Mix Magazine or something. I do remember being blown away by it. After watching the documentary that Focusrite put on YouTube several times. I constantly found myself trying to remember which console ended up where. So, I watched the documentary again and meticulously took some notes. Using this along with research from forum discussion and such, this is what I came up with.

In the summer of 2017, my son and I took a trip to Hollywood to see #004 at United Recording (formerly Oceanway). Since it appears that 7 of the 10 are still in existence. We now have 6 more to visit.

#001 Metropolis, London

The console was eventually broken up and the individual pre-amp modules were sold off.

#002 Conway, Los Angeles

Moved briefly to Paramount Studios, then broken up into pre-amp modules. Later found in a storage facility in Austin, TX, then purchased by SST to replace parts damaged in Hurricane Sandy.

#003 Studio Jive, Tokyo

Still There.

#004 Oceanway, Hollywood

My son Darian at #004, United Recording

Still There. Studio is now called United Recording

#005 Bop S. Africa

Bop closed in 2003. In 2020 the console was moved to Platinum Underground Studios in Mesa, AZ.

#006 Music Mill, Nashville

Purchased by Victor Castellanos Lopez and moved to Turtle Studio in Spain.

#007 Sound Design, Tokyo

First moved to an unknown studio in Switzerland then to Powertone in Belgium.

#008 Crescente, Tokyo

Sold to an unknown studio in Tokyo. Some pre-amps were kept.

#009 Bear Tracks, NY

Purchased by SST in New Jersey. Was damaged by hurricane Sandy. Restored using modules from #002.

#010 Crescente, Tokyo

Still There
